Recurring themes or common principles occur in physiology. Students are not aware that these general models can be applied to many situations in physiological systems. The Mass and Heat Flow program is a simulation-based tutorial designed to help students recognize the relationship between an energy gradient and resistance and the resulting flow. The program helps students develop a pictorial representation of this relationship in the context of "everyday" situations. It then presents students with examples of where and how this model can be applied within the context of various physiological systems. This program is available to download as freeware. |
